Art Deco and interwar apartment blocks

Many blocks have by-laws about what the street sees, and a white or light grey face on every blind is often the safe answer. Tell us about your building in the build and we will choose fabrics that keep the strata committee happy.

Glare off the water

A screen fabric with a tight weave cuts the glare off the ocean or the harbour while you still see out. By day it is hard to see in; at night, with the lights on, it turns around, so bedrooms usually want a blockout as well.

Salt air near the beach

Close to the water, salt and damp are hard on timber. In bathrooms and sea-facing rooms we usually suggest PVC or aluminium shutters over timber, and we will talk it through when we measure.

Narrow terrace windows with deep reveals suit a blind fitted inside the frame. We measure each one separately, because no two in an old terrace are quite the same.

We measure, and we fit

We come to you with the real swatches, measure every window ourselves and fit what we supply. We do not hand your job to a subcontractor.

The consultation

Close to our workroom, the consultation is on us. Further out, a consultation fee of $100 to $250 books the visit, depending on your postcode, and every dollar of it comes off your order when you go ahead. Put your postcode into the builder and it tells you which applies.

Every blind, curtain and shutter is made to measure in Australia. Blinds and curtains carry the manufacturer’s five-year warranty plus two more years from us on every part except the fabric; shutters get ten years.
